I have reconfigured wire shelving units into workstations. The descriptions are way too detailed for this review but I have included a picture. I purchased these to be able to setup an extension to a stand up mechanical workstation to provide a 7 foot work surface or variable height work surface to allow working with long boards or multiple tools. One of the uprights in the wire shelving unit is removed so the upper shelf relies on a cantilever to support it. A frame with two poles and cross bars only is used with the workstation with these to temporarily add shelves and the extended work surface.
